Powerful daily whole food treat.
Brings variety back to the diet.
Awesome nutrition and immune boost.
Young at Heart herbal blend was created to address elder animal concerns. This herbal blend is an anti-inflammatory and mild analgesic, to address the aches and pains of old age. It’s a kidney and liver tonic, to keep those toxins flushed. It contains some extra calories and good fats, to keep weight on. It has some yummies that encourage eating. Small animals can have high cholesterol, just like we can, so this mix fights the bad fats. It’s cancer-fighting, helps to prevent urinary tract issues, and is a general immune boost. As you see, it’s A LOT of great things!
Variety is so important in small animal diets. Rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens are natural foragers. They don’t eat only one type of grass, flower, herb or bark. They eat a little bit of this and a little bit of that. (Depending on what’s seasonally available, of course.) Without diet variety, they can suffer a lack of trace minerals and other nutritional components. Small Pet Select’s Young at Heart herbal blend provides the variety they need to mimic forage.
This small animal herbal blend is made of whole foods. A whole food = something to eat that’s still in its natural state and is bioavailable. It’s still what it ever was. Nothing is taken out of the original plant. A berry that has vitamin C is a whole food. A leaf is a whole food.
A whole food gives vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, fatty acids, and other micronutrients in a way the body needs them and understands them.
Rabbit and guinea pig teeth also require a variety of foods. They need to bite and chew, and crunch. They need to pull at bark and twigs. If they don’t get a chance to do all those things, mouth health can deteriorate and tooth problems crop up. And although chickens don’t have teeth, it’s still perfect for them, especially if they’re not free-range. Plus, it will make your coop or brood smell ah-mazing!

Perfect for rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens. This small animal herbal blend provides the diet variety they need.

Feeding Instructions
Any new food, snack, or supplement should be introduced patiently. Once your animal accepts the mix, Young at Heart herbal blend can be fed daily, up to 3 tablespoons per 10 lbs. of body weight. Young at Heart is most effective used along with our Vita-Licious herbal blend, to ensure that the broadest spectrum of nutritional needs is met.
In the first few days, they may not touch it at all. Avoid putting their new snacks or supplements on top of greens, pellets, or mixing into hay at first. (We don’t want them to stop eating the things they already trust because this new stuff is all over it.) Make a fuss about the new stuff, tell them how good it is. Do a little snack dance. They’ll get the idea, and work up their confidence, and one day they’ll try it. After that, there will be no looking back. They will run up to you when they hear the bag and look forward to their herbs and flowers with great anticipation.
